Card condition guide: NM/M – Cards in Near Mint condition may show minimal wear but are still close to Mint condition. I generally consider these cards very clean and very well taken care of. Foils in this category would be limited to one to three small hairlines barely noticeable unless put up to a bright lamp. Slightly Played (SP) – Cards in slightly played condition show very light and minor wear. This can be represented by the presence of light scuffs that are more than two or three light hairlines, but don’t necessarily encompass the whole front or back of a card and are more isolated. Foils show light clouding or surface wear proving some play is present. This grade is generally given when it does not look like a played card, but it has a few surface areas that make me borderline on wanting to call it NM. Played – Cards in Played condition show definite wear. Played cards won’t necessarily look similar to one another. Mild scuffing may be present and on Foils, clouding and obvious scuffs and scratches would be present. Played cards are always legal for tournament play in a sleeve. HP – The phrase “looks like it was run over in the driveway or dragged across the floor with grit” comes to mind. I do not use, collect, or sell this kind of condition.
